A-fib and dry hacking cough

Hi--

I had an ablation done about a year ago for my A-fib, and things have gone pretty well. Have started to notice a few short episodes of irregular heart beats, but mostly all is well. My question is has anyone else developed a dry hacking irritating cough with this condition? I was on remicade for UC and that can do it, but have been off that for 4 months. Was on an ACE inhibitor for a while, but the doc switched that to micardis for BP control.

I'm trying to sort out whether this is from sinus drip (sinus meds didn't help), or possibly from a "silent" acid reflux (proton pump inhibitor doesn't seem to help). This may sound funny, but one of my dogs has a mild heart condition and her cough sounds just like mine! Anyway, I'm sick of it and it makes my throat sore, naturally.

Just wondered if anyone else has run into this. I see my heart doc next week.

Thanks for the info, Kitt. IF i can get rid of the cough and my throat gets ok, maybe I can still make it to the Met!! lol!

Maybe as a precaution see about getting a chest x-ray to rule out pneumonia,
or bronchitis, but also asking your cardiologists what he thinks is good, make sure he listens
to your lungs, many well wishes and keep us posted as we do care...
