Can these two work togetheri After my cardiologist put me on blood thinners i started bleeding. Colonoscopy a couple of day ago says I've colitis

Has anyone been through a heart procedure with colitis it seems a bit scary to me. i havent been back to the cardio dr yet

I have Crohn's Disease and congenital heart disease. I had a aortic valve replacement and went tissue over mechanical valve so I didn't have to take blood thinners for many reasons, one being the Crohn's. I do take aspirin.

What are your concerns?

My LAD is 10e Cardio % blocked after my stress test and before my angiogram the cardio dr put me on plavix and baby asprin a after a couple weeks i started passing blood and it looks like the colitis is acting up
the cardo dr neeeds me to take care of the bleeding before placing a stent. i think you normally go on bloodthiners for 6mo to a year. i have my next meeting with the cardio dr in 2 weeks. i havent found anyone thats managed heart surgery with blood thiners and colitis

can colitis be managed while on thinners? any idea how

James, do you have gi dr? I think this is something a gi not a GP could help address. Have you asked the cardiologist about being on a blood thinner, if nothing else call & talk to his nurse. My husband had to be on Plavix for a year after he had a pacemaker put in.

I would say yes it can be manged on blood thinners, it just creates a more delicate balance. I would suggest having your GI and cardiologist communicate and have some detailed discuss with your GI on their opinion. GI's tend to be more full body than cardiologists......
