Having Nissan wrap undone

I remember last year you did a post and were complaining about chest pain and they would not check you until your heart issues were resolved. What ever happened because the docs were concerned you had cancer.

Are you ok....I remeber replying to your post but you never replied back.

I am glad you are ok. I was worried about you even though I don't know you. Its funny how with us all dealing with these problems can form bonds with people going through the same thing.

Luckily my problems have not been so severe to have me have the surgery done. My only issues was trouble swallowing (eating disorder for many years) and the doc gave me PPI's which has helped alot. The problem kind of comes and goes. One week fine next week not.

I recall reading archives on this post about people having it reversed (at least I think it was this site) I have visited many health boards regarding this issue (hyprochondriac). Have you tried to google it and used the words nissan fundoplication reversal. Google is ohow I have found most of the health sites I have joined.

Just wanted to know if anyone has had this procedure done and if it worked.

I have heartburn every night that wakes me up. Some nights it is worse than others. Sometimes it hurts in my chest and all the way through to my back. I have lots of cramps and terrible pain from whatever is wrong with my intestines mostly at night. I still had problems even though I took gas-x and the chlordiaxipide clidium caps before bed. It wasn't quite as bad as the other 2 nights. The doc did mention that it may or may not worsen the problem but that was the surgeon and that was 3 1/2 years ago. I want to talk to my new stomach specialist about it. The next step he wants to take is to put the tube down for 24 hours that measures how many time and how much reflux there is over a 24 hour period. Had that done 2x. Yuck. Barb

I take Prilosec perscription and I don't usually take it every day. I try to only take it every 2 to 3 days. I don't like to take drugs if I don't have to. I guess I am one of the lucky ones my problems arn't even as close as bad as yours are. I get a little scared though my 52 year old sister was diagnosed with Barretts so I am paranoid about getting it. She does though have a long history of drinking, smoking and drugs.

You mentioned you have had your problems since you were in your early teens. Did you develop this condition as well?

my name is nancy and last summer i had a large hiatal hernia repair with a troupet partial wrap but i didn't want the wrap part by my general surgeon said i needed one for relief of heartburn, stomach and chest non cardiac pains, nausea; started having trouble at 3 mo. post op with nausea, pain in wrap area, feeling of something moving; then in jan of this year i ate fastfood and within one hr. i began sweating, rectal bleeding, nausea, diarrhea which was colitis and cipro, flagyl and xifaxan got the bacteria out of me after 2 months of colitis which stopped in march thank god; then right after, i began what i describe as the world's worst nausea i've ever had, debilitating, intolerable and daily with intense pains in wrap area and my gi and surgeon have no answers for me; my new endo showed a new hernia but ct and barium didn't show one and my surgeon thinks i have no new hernia; i can't eat/drink, have NO appetite and can't even function anymore as a single mom losing my car/house and most importantly time with my son; am now trying to get into a specialist possibly at cleveland clinic in oh; any advice, referral or direction is appreciated; thx.
