I had my Nissen in Feb. 2011. I have had several instances of low blood sugar ever since. I finally started testing my sugar regularly and journaling my food and exercise to see if there was a pattern. I saw an endocrinologist and got diagnosis of reactive hypoglycemia. Also saw a nutritionist who gave me lots of information and sample menus. With 3 meals and 3 snacks recommended, I found it to be way too much. Had stomach pains after eating 1/2 the recommended lunch, so I skipped the next snack. Went for a walk after work and had a sugar crash. Dr. says this is a "not uncommon" side effect from the surgery.
Is anyone else dealing with this?
How do you get in all the meals and snacks while keeping your tummy happy?
I have had a great recovery and absolutely no heartburn since surgery. Any ideas out there?
