GERD/LPR messed up my relationship :( and social life, how to cope and deal with this.

I had LPR/GERD for 6-7 years now, and I met my gf 4 years ago. Just yesterday we decided to break up because of my condition. She just couldn't imagine being with someone so young and sick. She was older and I was younger, 25, she was 28. It just makes me hate this condition even more. I don't want to tell or share any of this with any other person I ever meet. Right now I feel pretty bummed out... I am not going to do anything dumb though, :) just trying to put things together as to why am I sick? Why does this has to mess up my relationship? Is like if I'm weak and I can't do things because I'm sick and any stomach thing will cripple my future. It's always gonna be there... Just venting and talking...sorry.

So sorry to hear of your break up. You have every right to be hurt and angry. Maybe she is not the right person for you anyway. When the going gets tough, a true partner will be there to support you. My husband has adapted to my condition because he loves and cares for me, for richer or poorer sickness and in health. It is hard for him soemtimes but he knows I am doing everything in my power to manage this condition. YOu should keep researching and trying to manage your condition the best you can while trying to move on with your life.

Thanks Erica, i appreciate your words. I'm just pondering here on what to do next... Meaning living with this condition, work and social life. Well at least I'm got my insurance and I'm goin to the GI after not going for a while. I'm getting an endoscopy next Friday.

Still feel sad and disspointed.
