Oh BTW - for the older timers here, I've changed my username from PPI-LESS to aciphexo.
Quick summary: I struggled with my reflux without PPIs for a long time (you can see my posts under PPI-LESS). I just could not tolerate taking them and experienced severe issues. However over time and with help of Elavil, I am now able to take Aciphex (20mg/day) (and was able to wean off of Elavil as well). So, now with this dosage of 20mg/day of Aciphex - my reflux is under control. I am well aware of all the problems PPI medications may bring in the long term, but at this time I am going to take this normalcy over the struggle with reflux ...
Anyway - hence the change in my username.
Hoping our President can manage his reflux as well. It is quite likely he has already been put on PPIs.

Thanks for the heads up! Good to hear that you are feeling better. You have to do what you feel is best. Maybe you will be able to ween off but the most important thing is quality of life. GERD is a very common issue, as you can see with our President's diagnosis.

Ah PPI-less, glad you've been able to move on! I do well enough on Zantac these days, but if PPIs did the trick I'd definitely worry about
the side effects some other time too! Glad you've been able to turn things around.
