omerprozole vs zantac

Does zantac have less side effects than omerprozole generraly speaking
I understand they are different classes of drugs with different functions .is that right ?

If Zantac controls your symptoms then stick with it. Everyone is different in regards to side effects however PPI's are a route you don't want to go down if you can at all avoid it.

I developed delayed gastric emptying from taking a PPI. So my acid reflux actually became ten times worse on the medication.

I've been using Zantac instead of a PPI for over a year now and my last scope showed things had improved. I find my symptoms are more stable and some symptoms I thought were the GERD were in fact the PPI.

Zantac was used for a long time by many many people before the PPIs came onto the market - it's a simple drug with little by way of side effect and there is no "hang over" I.e. once it wears off it is out of your system completely. This can also be a downside - you have to pay attention to the clock and take your dose on time.
