HEAPS of food has protein in it, how do you think vegetarians get on? Eggs, dairy, nuts and beans are all really good sources of protein. I would avoid the beans though because they might make you gassy and that could get painful.
I agree with aero1's suggestion, with the addition that you could have peanut butter, as long as its the smooth type, for protein as well. Yoghurt could be pretty good as well once you are a few weeks in, you probably wont tolerate dairy that well immediately after the surgery. If you are concerned you aren't getting enough protein, get a meal replacement shake, but make sure its the type designed for people who, for whatever reason, can't eat and need to maintain their caloric intake, rather than the weight loss variety. I hear Ensure is good, we don't have that here so I go for Complan.
