Hi Fransherrell. Both the Toupet (270 degree) and Nissen (360 degree) are both wraps and the recovery time is essentially the same. The doctor will give you his time frame for full recovery, about 6 to 8 weeks, but as many on here have experienced, full recovery is 6 months to year. It is true that after the 6 to 8 week time frame you can be eating almost normal again, you just have to watch out not to swallow large chunks of food. It is retraining yourself on how you eat. And your stomach will feel fuller faster since the fundus is now wrapped around your esophagus. I was on PPIs for 30 years and had horrible acid in my throat and mouth every night, even with several pillows propping me up. I drank antacid like water at night. My LES was very weak. After my Nissen surgery, I did not take another antacid at all. So for me, it worked great. I had some issues adapting to the eating and some gastric dumping issues but all was manageable. Like you, I had an overseas trip 5 months later and I didn't have any issues with that... although I am 24 years younger. You may want to talk to the surgeon about what you plan to do in May and get his advice. If you don't want to risk the wedding, then could you wait and just stay on the PPI for a few more months. This is a tough one and only you can make the decision after some discussion with the doctor. I am unsure about the LINX procedures as they were not approved for me when I had the surgery. I wish you luck with your decision and your eventual fix. Take care and keep us updated. -JR
