Hello my name is Wendy and I had Nissen Fundoplication surgery 4 weeks ago for gerd that caused me excessive burping and nausea for 12 years. My doctor stated he did a full wrap but didn’t wrap it too tightly as he stated many problems arise with too tight of wraps.
I have just started trying to eat things like mashed potatoes and gravy, and cream of chicken soup etc and it seems to be a little painful going through the wrap but I understand it’ll take time to get to solid foods. But in that respect, things are going ok.
My problem is that I’m having the same exact issues as before….excessive burping like non stop all day and it’s terrifying me that my surgery was a failure?? It doesn’t matter what I eat or drink. Even on an empty stomach I have excessive burping just like before and it gets even worse if I eat or drink something? Does this mean my surgery didn’t work and maybe he should have wrapped it more tightly? Any info would be greatly appreciated! I’m really worried
