Gastroparesis 3 years following a Nissen Fundoplication

Sorry to hear you are still having issues. Once the LES is tightened during the Fundoplication surgery, you more than likely can't vomit and it is not necessarily due to damage. This is something that my surgeon discussed with me at length and he informed me before surgery that I would not be able to vomit, and I would lose the ability to belch, as I have done in the past - I had the full wrap, and it hasn't bothered me in the least. If you had a partial or floppy wrap, that may not be necessarily true. I'm sorry that I don't have any experience with gastroparesis, hopefully someone else will come along and comment. There is some good information on gastroparesis on the Mayo Clinic website. I strongly suggest before you commit to any treatment, that you seek a second opinion. It might be a good idea to consult with a nutritionist.

In December 2018 I have a Hiadel Hernia Lynx procedure done. Due to a bad reaction from the anesthesia I was not able to keep anything including water down for a week and a half. Finally the dr office said to have some Ensure. Thankful for that cause I came back to life. The weight loss was great but done the wrong way. So months down the road I was living my life, then I got Shingles and then I starting having some bad pain in my shoulders, ribs, and all over it moved daily. What I forgot to realize was that I was having heartburn again serveral times a day. I also have Rhyum. Arthritis and Fibromyalgia. This had been going on for 8 weeks. I still was not smart and allying my surgeon. So I saw my wonderful Prrimary Care doc and she send me for an X-ray then a cat. Scan and then the head of Radiology called her and said my Lynx device was not whereit was supposed to be. So My surgeon was contacted and 5n days later I had another surgery. He had never seen anything like this. So he was able to put it back in place and then put some mesh over part of it just for good measure. Three weeks into my recovery I still eating mostly soft mushy food but today I start burping every 10 min like crazy. I am hoping this passes. I have not had any food or drink to bring this on....if continues will talk to the dr on MOnday. I feel like the last 6 mos is straight out of a dream, one I would like to wake up from.
