We have found the issue ... 5 months post op.. Spasm Food Sticking

Food has been getting stuck on a regular basis since surgery... went for a barium swallow test last week with a PILL.... they saw...... a spasm just before entering the stomach... wrap looked good surgery looked good ... but they saw a spasm.

Has anyone experienced this ... and what could be done or was done in your case?

I've never experienced spasms, what did you doctor say?

He is thinking .... one more good dilation will do the trick.

Pretty much get chest pain when I eat and food gets stuck. They saw a slight spasm with the barium swallow with the pill.

Amazing to read your post as I was going to post re a similar feeling!
I am 5 1/2 months post fundo and hernia repair and have had a sense of food sticking if I take in too much
I've also had some reflux sensations which I relieve by sucking a tic tac or two. These symptoms have got worse over the last 2 weeks as I've developed a bout of bronchitis.
I find steak is not my friend no matter how well I chew it!
I've been off all meds since a month after the surgery.
On occasion I have a spasm like a cramp in my diaphragm and it goes into my throat.
I'm having an endoscopy and RASP test in the next week.
Hope the dilation solves your problem!
How do they do a dilation?
