My incision wounds after nissan

Hi All ,

Sorry to bother you all again , I'm 10 days post op ,
Because I left hospital with no information, I didn't manage to get to see a nurse until the 4th day to change the dressings (I could see some yellow stuff and some blood so I was panicking )

The nurse was lovely she changed my dressings , put iodine on first , and prescribed me antibiotics (liquid ones as the tablets were huge) ,
I've been taking the antibiotics for 6 days , seen another nurse last Friday and she changed the dressings again , by night time they were peeling off so had to buy a load of them,

I'm due to see the nurse again today the first nurse I saw, and my incisions are making me feel sick ,
Because I am sure there is a smell coming from them , even though they look like they have turned into big scabs (sorry about wording even I'm retching) , and can't see any oozing

But I did read that there are stitches there that come away on there own , and that they should do within a few days after surgery ,
Obviously as mine were infected I knew it would be longer , but now im thinking how can they come away if there are scabs covering them up ?

I'm really sorry to post this and I hope no one is eating food as I know this is gross ,
I'm in the UK and I've searched to see if anyone else had any problems with there wounds after surgery and can't find anything , I have my grandads funeral Wednesday and I need a shower , and to go and buy clothes that won't irritate my stomach during the service

Any help 🙏 , and again sorry for the gross content ,
I feel so sick 😫 xx

The nurse said when she took off the dressings "they look sore and you have a rash around them too" , so she called in another nurse , which agreed with her but both were worried that I was having a reaction to the dressing
So they called a doctor in and the doctor was mad because she seen my discharge sheet and it said nothing about my breathing problems I had when they woke me up ,
And also she said "I can't see your dietician appointments or ANY follow up appointments"
They put more dressings on , prescribed me steroid cream , and she said "ring the hospital up and ask about where are your follow up appointments"
Which I did and my surgeons secretary went on and on saying "we don't do them because of covid , we only see cancer patients ,the surgeon might ring you to ask how are u doing in 6 months time"

So rang my doctor told her what they said and she was mad , saying its disgusting discharging me without any info , dressings etc , and she was worried because I'd dropped too much weight , because I started not feeling like eating ,
I've lost 14lb in 12 days (I'm overweight so it's not a huge issue , she was worried that my body isn't getting nutrients,
But I am now drinking one protein shake , and bowl liquid soup with mashed up cabbage ,

So had to gather all my strength today to get to my grandads funeral ,
I don't understand why my wounds got infected and its day 13 post op , still covered in dressings and STILL NO shower ,

I sooo miss a bath 😔

Hi, I don’t understand the not showering? Was the operation open or lap?
I have had 5 surgeries in last 10 years and haven’t ever had a problem showering so can share my experiences if you like?
