No more reflux, but now I have constant esophageal pain

I see the GI specialist Monday, but this pain is sharp and on and off. It is right in the center of my chest. Sometimes how I'm sitting makes it worse. It seemed to be getting better but now today it is back to hurting badly. I don't have any swallowing problems or any other type of GERD symptom, just this pain in the dead center of my chest.

Could this be esophageal spasms?
