Hi Lizzard3,You don't have to start a new thread to ask a new question. It's better to have one thread labeled something like "Nissen Recovery Issues", and stick to that thread, asking questions and bringing up new issues. If you start a new thread for every question, the main page gets clogged up, and it's more difficult to follow your recovery, questions, and answers.
If you can find something out there that provides all the information you're looking for, be sure to post the link here. I have not been able to find any information that rivals what people who have lived the recovery can provide. If you look at my early recovery journal, you can see that when I had my surgeon's follow-up visit he told me about the swelling increase during the first two weeks. That's why many surgeons keep their patients on liquid diets throughout that time.
Unfortunately, your surgeon isn't alone in doing the surgery and sending you off without sufficient information regarding recovery. Many tell their patients that they'll be back to eating normally in two weeks. REALLY? Unbelievable.
So there you go. I'm no help! Maybe somebody else will be by with the information link you're looking for.
Hang in there,
Denise
