Mucinex for LPR

My doctor wants to put me on this.

Has anyone used it?

Is it possible that mucinex can cure LPR?

I didn't quite understand the reasoning for him wanting me to use it.

I can't imagine it cures it, but maybe it's worth trying. Let us know if you get results.

I'd try the 12-hour formula. Plain old generic guaifenesin doesn't last very long, certainly not long enough to cure anything. I have used the 12-hour to help me get rid of secretions that dry up and cause infections in the winter.

All it does is dry up the mucus that is produced to protect your esophagus from the acid.
Logic tells me why would I want to reduce a protective coating in such a delicate organ?
