Hi.
I am 41 year old Canadian, but live in Thailand right now. At 38 I started experiencing breathing difficulties, mostly wheezing. I was prescribed asthma meds which barely helped and in many instances made breathing worse. I always suspected silent reflux, but would just get a laugh from lung doctors... Canadian and Thai :)
about 6 months ago I started getting a lump in throat (globus sensation) which was probably irritated by asthma meds. This is where I figured out I must have reflux. Anyway, a month ago I had an endoscopy done here in Thailand (excellently done, btw - no issues after surgery) and it confirmed small hernia and H Pylori. I did the 2 week proton pump thing and I still have difficulty breathing. Everywhere I read is that if you have more difficulty breathing in than breathing out it is most likely silent reflux and I am 100% sure my breathing issues are due to reflux, not Asthma which I suspect I do not even have.
This has been going on for 3 years now. Anyone went through this?
