Hi folks,
I'm 21 yrs, male. I'm hoping to see a doctor on Tuesday, but I figured I'd just ask a few questions here while I wait...
I believe I may have GERD or LPR. I don't have the traditional heartburn, acidity taste in mouth or frequent regurgitation of food...but I have a dull pain that seems to be below the sternum. The pain isn't too severe, but it's more noticeable if I eat certain foods and I have to take a deep breath to really feel the pain. If I take a deep breath, and press into the area where it hurts while my stomach is expanded, I can reproduce the pain a bit.
I suppose it's also worthy to note, that if I drink a small amount of skim milk, this pain tends to go away pretty quickly. I've had the pain for around a month now, the pain comes for a few days, and goes away for a few more. If I eat something that aggravates it, it comes back. But the pain always stays in that one place, and I never feel pain elsewhere...no burning in the chest, so that has me thinking silent reflux.
I sleep fine. I also haven't woken up with a burning throat, or anything like that. Though, I think I have uvulitis as of a few days ago. I originally thought it was globus sensation, but I can see the uvulva touching my tongue at the back of my mouth. I understand this may due to stomach acid irritating it...but wouldn't I feel stomach acid in my mouth if it was effecting my uvula?
Recently, I've also got green stool...but that may be a result of changing my diet.
I thought about
it possibly being a gastric ulcer, or perhaps gallstones..
I haven't taken any antacids or PPIs yet, I wanted to see a doctor before I did that. I've since overhauled my diet, and I'm working on weight loss - though, I haven't been diagnosed yet. But either way, it can't hurt.
It's probably GERD/LPR, right? Thanks in advance for any replies!
