Trouble Breathing - Excessive belching

Hi sokpenz, I was diagnosed wit a HH about 16 years ago. I was prescribed 20 mg of Omeprazole which stopped the haeartburn. Last Fall I began experiecincing SOB which progressed until around Christmas when I could barely breathe & with each breath extreme wheezing. Right before Christmas I began experiencing extreme chest pain, went to urgent care where they said they saw the hernia but also saw what looked liked pneumonia. They diagnosed me, gave me an antibiotic & sent me on my way telling me to see my PCP. I saw him the next week, he saw something in the blood work that concerned him & immediately sent me for a CT scan with contrast. No pneumonia or blood clot (my doc's fear) but my hernia had gotten to the point where 1/2 my stomach was out ~ the hernia was 5 ". He referred me to a general surgeon who's sent me for an endoscopy to rule out cancer, Barrett's etc. I was "clean" & I had a lap HH repair with Nissen on 2/15. I was off work 2 weeks although in hindsight I should have taken the 3 weeks advised by the surgeon. I'm still in the recovery stage & taking baby steps ~ it is slow. I still have SOB but it's getting better. SOB was my biggest symptom. The chest pain was exruciating. My advice is to see your Dr. it could be a HH ~ I've found that a lot of symptoms I've had over the years were due to mine. Your dr should do a chest X-ray which will show the HH. I've learned the the SOB & chest pain come as the hernia gets bigger at least that's what happened to me. Go to your PCP & express your concerns. The recovery from the surgery is long but I am so glad I had it done. This forum has been a Godsend pre surgery & post. Good luck!

I hate this decrease as with me its starts at night. Can someone please give me the correct diet. I basically eat twice a day .toast an tea in the morning and chicken and salad at about 3PM . I go to bed very hungry .
