Yes, you should have an endoscopy done and also probably a manometry test to see if your esophagus has motility to push food through. I have achalasia, which means mine doesn’t so I had food getting stuck for years before getting diagnosed and surgery. You can also have them dilate your esophagus during the endoscopy with a balloon, or inject Botox in it to relax the muscles.
