Hi everyone. I've had hernia repair & toupet fundoplication exactly 11 days ago. So far so good, I'd say, except for one problem that ruins every single day of recovery for me.
As soon as the day starts, as soon as I eat my first meal (which is a baby soup), I feel this intense pressure in my diaphragm, which soon turns into a hiccup or dry heaving, when it becomes too much. And that's at least 6x a day. No improvement yet.
I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the inability to belch so the gas gets trapped and pushes on my diaphragm, leading to spasms. Is this a normal thing? Should I be worried? When should I expect the hiccups and spasms to subside?
