I have had symptoms of left sided discomfort for a year now. I had a c-scope which was clear and an ultra sound of my abdomen showed only fatty liver. Yet I suffer with intense pressure and muscle spasms on my left sided and bloating as well. I can play golf and row so im assuming this is not directly a back issues.
My questions are...1) how were you actually diagnosed with GERD....is it always on endocopy....can the ultra sound miss it
2) Is it possible to have GERD or gastritis with no obvious signs of indigestion.....

Hi Kevin_H, I am new to this forum, now 2 weeks post surgery. I was diagnosed by various tests including PH 24 hour test, oesophageal mamomotry, barium swallow, endoscopy and ultra sound.
On your second question I am not a medic and not sure. I was losing my voice, had gerd induced asthma and regurgitation prior to surgery. Maybe a question for your GP? I hope you get diagnosed and start to feel better soon.
