Hi
I had a 360 NF 21 June, large hiatus hernia and Gerd, its been 2.5 months. Came home 2 days later, puréed food 3 full weeks. Felt well, no pain to be concerned or swallowing issues, a bit of flatulence, it went as expected.
Surgeon saw me at end of 3 weeks and was very happy with surgery and progress found nothing when I was under, all clear and healthy, and advised start eating normal but be cautious with steak, rice and some breads for another month.
I started normal foods but made sure they were soft, overcooked and when I tried chicken schnitzel or a Bic Mac no issues but chewed slowly.
Then on month 2, exactly I started getting some indigestion light pains after dinner which lasted for a few hours and irritated throat by end of evening. In the last 2 weeks it has been on and off like that, I get feeling some food is getting stuck not going down, not comfortably like it did before, feeling a slight tightness sometimes. Note - soft food is ok it’s harder denser food that plays up. It is settling a bit but still not like previous month.
I have been reading these forums and especially Dencha and Sharon saying it took both up to 6 months to settle and then after 1 year to feel as before.
Were this some of the experiences you had in those 6 months you refer to, which eventually resolved. Trying not to be anxious about it, but not always easy, impacting my appetite and enthusiasm to eat. Why did I have a month of comfort then suddenly this appeared, I would have expected that at the beginning.
Many thanks, John
Ps. I did contact my surgeon and suggested give it a few more weeks, then we can meet.
