Hi Susie
Well, correct me if I’m mistaken and out of experience, Maalox is not as effective and efficient as PPIs, for example are. I don’t consider it to be a medicine that can treat an illness. It’s just there to soothe heartburn and indigestion. On the box is written it is for symptomatic treatment. I didn’t consult Dr. Google 😂 It is my general knowledge that I should not move to a higher grade whether C or Barrett’s. I’ve read that 12.4% of patients who take Rinvoq get GERD. So, it has been documented. Given that I do already have GERD, I don’t want it to deteriorate. If I can do anything to stop my GERD from getting worse, I would definitely do it. Maybe there are new meds that are more effective in controlling hyperacidity. Btw, I’ve always had NERD and didn’t have this heartburn.
