When I was pregnant a few months back ( I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks) my OBGYN sent me to a Dr who specializes in fetal medicine during pregnancy. At the time I was taking Lexapro, Klonopin, thyroid medication and vitamins. She told me that the antidepressants she uses are Lexapro,Celexa, Prozac and Zoloft. She told me the Klonopin is a No No its Pregnancy category D and was found in both animal and human studies to cause birth defects especially heart when taken in doses of more than 1 MG a day. She instead told me to take Benadryl for anxiety and to help me sleep she said the supplment GABA is also safe to take and works for many women.
I dont want to scare you with this information but it was just what my MD had told me and she specializes in the field during pregnancy. I still do take the Lexapro and the Klonopin as needed which I plan to quit the Klonopin all together since I plan to become pregnant again soon.
Maybe you could ask your OBGYN for a refereal to an OBGYN the specializes in fetal and maternal medicine and they would be able to help you more and ease your mind and help you get some sleep.
I know having Panic disorder and panic attacks while pregnant is awful and having to take medication thinking "what if" it causes this or that creates even more panic. Having anxiety problems makes life so so hard!
