This is the med I was on for my heart. I just stopped taking it, because I have Raynaud's, and it was making it worse.
As for my heart rate, it worked well. I used to always be near 100 at rest, and when anxiety hit, my HR would be 120 or more.
Now, my HR is 77 at the highest. We will see if that goes back up now that I've stopped the drug.
The only bad side-effect I noticed was dizziness upon standing. I had to get up slowly to stop that from happening, but that's not so bad.
I have no scientific proof, and I know it's not for blood pressure, but my BP has been lower since starting it.
You have to make your own decision, but try not to let it get in your head that it's a heart medication. It just might help.
