Ironically, I am a mental health professional and am scheduled to take my 4-hour licensing exam this Monday. As a sufferer if extreme anxiety, I am finding myself getting worried over having a panic attack/not feeling well, not being able to concentrate while taking the exam. or feeling like I cannot walk out should I need to.

My anxiety has been more intense lately, and was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

Have you prepared to the best of your ability for the test? How have you done in the past on previous examinations of this type?

Looking to be the best equipped for the test as possible, as well as recalling times in the past that you have made it successfully through similar circumstances will help.

...as will positive visualization. As you meditate/do your coping skills...imagine yourself in the exam room, relaxed and confident...and finishing successfully.

Use your coping skills daily to keep your anxiety levels in general as low as possible.

If you can, sit on the perimeter of the classroom, and tell yourself that if needed, you can slip out for a quick breath of air.

Use grounding skills as you enter the room. Take in all the mundane details of your surroundings to keep your mind from getting runaway worries.

You can get through this...so use your positive mantras to keep your anxiety at bay!

Let us know how it goes...I am sure you are going to knock it out of the park.:)

Thanks for offering such awesome suggestions and your kind words, SC! Do you know of any grounding techniques I can use?

I definitely prepared for the test, however the exam is extremely frustrating and confusing in that what may apply in one situation does not apply in another. While one can usually learn from this, the simulations I have been taking have been inconsistent, varying greatly from one to another.

In any case, thanks again, and will keep you posted! :)
