Hi HW Family,

Just left the dentist after a cleaning and a check up regarding some pain I was having towards my wisdom tooth. I still have all four, as my first dentist told me they weren't impacted and were growing in as normal. However, I've developed "pericoronitis" and my dentist strongly urges that I have all four removed to prevent future complications. It can be done under local anesthesia since the teeth are above the gums and they're treating it like a normal tooth pull. I've never had a tooth pulled, and am obviously a bit nervous....

Any stories w/ getting those suckers removed?

While this is probably not something you had hoped for...

...in the long run, this is likely going to save you a lot of maintenance of teeth you simply don't need!

The good news is that they are above the gum line, and therefore will be a much easier procedure than what most go through.

I am sure you will do great! Let us know when your appointment is, so we can keep you in support!

Painless,..... The worst part is when the dentist talks too much about procedure. Tell her to shush and get it done. Lol.


Also painless after. The dentist will tell you about how to eat and no sugary drinks.

Mama, got all four of mine pulled on my second hitch in Navy, I had one that was not thru and it got
infected, he may have set a world record, my guess is after Novocaine set in it was about one minute
per tooth, zero problems afterward, Peace

I have had all my wisdom teeth removed and the bottom two were impacted so I was given a general anaesthetic.

Did not have any problems afterwards apart from a small bit of swelling on my bottom jaw.
