. Hi Hibee , and thanks for sharing your experience.
I have been on many anti-depressants ( currently 300mg Effexor ) and I honestly don't realize any mood improvement until I try to stop taking them, with my doctors approval. I am fine for about a month , and then I notice that my mood is very down, and then I am back on the Effexor. Sort of strange , but that is how my system works. I have been on about 6 different anti-depressants , and the one that had bad side affects was paxil. My experience with paxil is that it ( in my opinion ) should not be given to males. Killed my libedo while I was on it , and my psychiatrist didn't even warn me about this side effect. Not good for a younger ( 30 ish years old and dating ) male imo.
Like you , my best relief has come from talking to people about it, especially my psycologist. I used to suffer anxiety and panic attacks , but that has eased up in recent years. I credit my psycologist for getting my anxiety under control, but still suffer from depression.
