I was doing well, just left my pdoc appointment and just got done telling her that I seem to be doing well. Did some quick grocery shopping and then went and got something to eat, then decided to go into the store again to get my lotto tickets, had to wait in line and when it was my turn I suddenly felt like I went deaf. It felt like I lost my hearing and the first thing that came to mind was I was going to pass out in front of all these people. The lady at the counter took her sweet time getting me my change and I just left, fast....ran to my car without my change or my tickets.
As soon as I got home I was fine, worried but fine. This new ear thing is nuts.

DS,
I have had that...a sudden closing of the ears, or so it seems...
Check out 'The Super Scanner' link and the Positive Mantras/Affirmations from the Resources. ..both these sites will help.:)
Sorry that was rough...next time you'll be ready to combat it!

Here you go...
The first one is explains the way our anxiety is triggered over any new/different body sensation/symptom we have...and the second one teaches how to use positive statements to combat the anxiety.:)

Along with vertigo, that deaf / pressurized ear sensation can put my anxiety on overdrive. At least it used to, not so much now. I somewhat got used to it and realized that it's probably just pressure from allergies or maybe some kind of clog in my ear canal.
It's very bizarre that it can flip the anxiety switch!
For me sitting down or distracting my worried mind can mostly make the anxiety / panic go away, but like you sometimes I just need to get back to my car or go outside.
Hang in there! :)

Totally understand! I went to meet my husband for coffee on Friday afternoon near my office... and the coffee shop was too crowded and I had to text him from outside and say, "I can't go in there. Not today..."
It's like everything in my chest closes. Some days I'm fine. Some days I'm just not.
