I'm so sick
Can't remember the last time I was so ill.
Turning the corner today I think (hope)
Terrible anxiety because we came down with this while spending Christmas with my elderly mother and she caught it too sad
I can't imagine her dealing with this all alone
She does have neighbors stopping in.
I'm afraid this will kill her and it's our fault.

I am so sorry! sad It is bad enough being sick...

...but then worrying about your mom adding to your anxiety...just awful!

I know you'll be checking in with her...and like you said, she has neighbors...so she will be fine.

Oh Bless you.. I am glad you have turned a corner flu wise, and i hope you turn the corner soon anx wise.

I am sure your mum will be fine.. It couldnt be helped that she got the flu , and i am sure she enjoyed you being there.

Sending healing thoughts and prayers to you and your mama! This seasons flu has been particularly yucky but I know you both will be on the mend soon!

Thanks all! We're hanging there....still feel pretty punk. Symptoms have moved to the gastro regions

Flu this year is miserable,a lot of my family and friends are down as of now.

Flu shots are life savers .

I am On day 3 of a terrible cold/sinus. I work at the hospital and our 60 room ER has been full all day, everyday for the last two weeks. My mom took my 92 year old grandma in yesterday because she has it too, and the hospital was full. They had to wait several hours before they could get her into a room.

Hoping for quick healing for all the illnesses out there!

Many do not like taking the flu vacc, as they think it can give you flu...
As it isnt a live vaccine it cannot give you the flu, but they do ask if you have been feeling well the past 72 hours.

I do try and encourage all my residents over 70 or younger with chest or heart problems to take the vaccine... As it can be serious in the elderly.

Still effing sick as is my mom sad
I am so nauseous I don't know what to do. I get hungry- start to eat and a couple bites in my appetite is gone. Still have diarrhea.
If my pants start falling off I might see a silver lining in this cloud- smile
For now the bloat negates this.
Any tips for thwarting nausea?

I usually feel better if I stick to ginger ale and broth when I have stomach issues/nausea. These will give you some sodium and sugars...and help keep you hydrated.

I always get some relief from saltine crackers, they have baking soda in them and it seems to take away the empty stomach feeling and calms my stomach down, if you have any zink tablets dry dissolving them in tea
"hot tea", they don't cure the flu or a cold but seems to shorten the duration. Prayers, Peace
