Anyone taken REXULTI?

My doctor is adding Rexulti to my current SNRI Remeron. Has anyone taken it and had success? Please do not mention any bad experiences or side effects you had -- I have bad health anxiety so I'm already nervous to take it.

Thank you if you share!!! I really appreciate it!

By the way, my current medicines are Propranlol ER and a low dose of Neurontin in the morning, Remeron at night, and Xanax as needed.

I think most people are very happy with their add-ons.😊

Thanks Scaredy Cat. We are doing an add on versus a SSRI since the Remeron is a SNRI, and you can't combine the two. So instead, we're hoping the add on works. I'm honestly looking for my "miracle" medicine because right now, well for the past 3 years, things have not been good and I'm getting worse. I'm also still staying on my Propranalol and low dose of Neurontin. Hoping to eliminate those two over time!

Yes, I think this sounds like a good plan.

Some people do Wellbutrin as an add-on...but I believe Rexulti may be newer and preferred?

Thanks SC! Now I just have to make myself actually take it. I'm working on that.

I'm hoping someone on this forum has used it and had positive results. I'd love to hear a success story. smile

To my knowlesge, it is not commonly used to treat anxiety...but I am certainly not an expert...and it could be a newer 'off label' choice used by some doctors.

...is your P-doc or GP prescribing this for you?

I am prescribed by my psychiatrist. I'm now considering finding a new one. I just (stupidly) Google-d the medicine, and am a bit apprehensive to take it after reading other people's stories. I know better than to Google! ;)

I'm just so desperate to find something to help me. I can't live like this for forever, but will never lose hope that I'll find something to help.

Oh no...I am sorry you are feeling nervous now.:/

Try to remember that it is human nature to post negative experiences, rather than good ones...so for every scary story you read...there are likely many more successful ones that never get written.

You might consider being honest about your concerns with your P-doc, and asking him to present you with information from other patients who have done this regimen.

...or see of he would even consult with a colleague about this choice.

You're completely right SC. Most people would write a review if they had a bad experience versus posting about a great one. It's true - human nature. Thanks so much. I'm still unsure if I want to take the Rexulti. I just wish I could figure it what will definitely help me.

Obviously I have to choose an add on versus a SSRI since I'm on a SNRI (Mirtazapine). This is so hard to figure out, but I'm trying! It's been 11 years too long to not have an answer yet.

You have no idea how much I appreciate your input and reassurance. You're wonderful!

I took it for a short amount of time. It did absolutely nothing for me.
