Bump on back of neck

I noticed a small bump under my skin on back of neck last night and am now freaking out that it’s cancer. It’s right in crease of left side of neck right below hairline.

Could it be lymphoma or cancer?

Most likely a lipoma, which are benign and harmless. I have one on the lower back of my scalp. As with all lumps, just go get it checked out by a dermatologist or your internist.

GG is right. Peace of mind can be priceless, but lipomas are pretty common. I have one on my chest that almost feels like a bone (it's very hard) and protrudes a little bit. As long as it doesn't grow, I'm told not to worry.

Hopefully if your doctor can't see you, maybe you can go to an urgent care facility. Don't be alarmed by the word "urgent". It really just means you don't have to make an appointment and can be seen within a few hours (if there are a lot of people there).

Over the decades, I have spent countless hours obsessing over myriad health issues. Things which could have easily been resolved by just going to the doctor. Instead I caused myself so much anxiety and anguish. Not to mention the stress I added to my family.

As the others mentioned above, this is likely something benign that will go away on its own

It sounds to me like a subdermal cyst (pimple for lack of a betrer term) which require no treatment generally.

Talk to your doctor for peace of mind, but don't worry! You are going to be fine.

I have had a lot of those over the years and most the time it's a result of an ingrown hair so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Those of us with health anxiety think the worst of every little change in our body but I'm here to tell you that I am now 70 years old and have had 1 million different health concerns over the years, none of which I've turned out to be anything serious.
