Of course it's better when you're with people - because when you're interacting with them, you don't have as much time to "talk to yourself", and you can FEEL the reality of the situation. When you're by yourself, you start telling yourself all sorts of "lies", and you believe these pop-up random thoughts to be true. Remember to tell yourself that when you're with people, that is REALITY. When you're by yourself, try reminding yourself that the thoughts that are "coming to you" are not REAL, but are actually "stories" that you are inadvertently telling yourself. It might take time for you to eventually remember this, but if you tell yourself this EACH time, you will be able to stop yourself sooner before you begin to spiral out. Keep with the CBT - it's supposed to be very helpful for anxiety. Also, I believe it seems to be more apparent in the AMs because you are probably more by yourself then; and, at least for me, there seems to be a connection to AM time and low blood sugar, which can exacerbate the jittery feelings. In the evenings, you are probably more tired, so your mind just wants to zone out more rather than start up "worried" thoughts. Hope some of this insight helps.
