i feel as though i am going to die now from insomnia.  This is the worst it has ever been.  I slept well last night after taking .5 mgs twice a day of Clonazapem.  My worrying of dying from insomnia has taken over tonight even after .5mgs.  I took .25 this morning.  i tried to go to my doctor today and becasue of the heavy traffic was late and couldn't see him.  He wouldn't even talk to me on the phone.  I HAVE had these episodes many times over the years and have beaten them  this time I don't think I can since the Klonopin isn't working and tha that I read that article.  Please somebody if your out there please help me.

i have insomnia too. i usually go to sleep very late, around 3 in the morning. Sometimes later. I don't fight it anymore. i just try to keep really busy.  :-)

can i die from this. i'm so worried. if i didn' worry i would go to sleep. i can't control it. i am so scared.

hmm...
just a thought but have you tried reading books on insomnia and what causes it etc. or have you googled 'insomnia' and seen what you can come up with - there appears to be heaps of info out there...I only had a quick look and the best I came up with is www.stanford.edu/~dement/insomnia.html

don't worry wiley. you're not going to die from this. try not to focus on it. if i didn't force myself to go to sleep every night (like at 3 in the morning) i could stay up all night.  try playing a computer game. :-)

I think you should try some of the self help books for one do things during the day to get you tired out and try to fall asleep to relaxing music
I know you are worried but thats why you are not sleping
If we could get your worrying straightened out you would sleep I a sure
No I dont believe you will die from this the worst thing is you might just sleep over utter and sheer exhaustion

I did a little research and read that the longest anyone has gone without sleep is 11 days (I'll admit that that is info I got from a medical TV show-'House' but I believe that is based on the story of Randy Gardner a guy who set a Guiness book record--look him up).
Also read that even tho you are awake most people go into 'micro sleep'-5 to 15 seconds of almost imperseptible sleep many times throughout the day.
Hope this can help.
When I couldn't sleep I used to read Carebear scripts (I worked in saturday morning cartoons) --that worked for me right away.
