The thought of depression makes me anxious as well. I don't like "labels". When I see my therapist now I tell her to not tell me I have depression because the "labels" leave me depressed. I did however take a phq-9 recently and no longer qualify as depressed so that's good.
I would talk to your doctor about your feelings or therapist. Explain that the thought of depression makes you nervous and then you can work out why you're nervous about it.
We do suffer with sad days, mad days, and down days, but the blues can be helped with medication as well. Are you taking medication? If so, what?
The exercise you do will be helpful for your depression. Exercise balances all the neurotransmitters and chemicals in your brain such as serotonin, dopamine, and gabba. (Gabba is the natural vallium in your brain that puts the "brakes" on the flight or fight sensation)
