My breathing problems are back. My nose is completely stuffed up - although it usually is - as well as my throat airways, which are clogged with mucus. My head wells up with pressure, I can struggle to swallow foods, my body involuntarily gasps for air and I feel pain and dizziness if I don't gasp properly. Things get worse if I lean back or move around, and in turn my heart rate climbs from lack of air. It's not the same feeling as hyperventilation, I know full well how that feels!
The only things that help are slouching forwards at my laptop, and Oxymetazoline, although the latter causes me to get bad rebound when it wears off. I have no allergies, diagnosed with LPR reflux - much to my eternal horror - and aspergers syndrome. I don't have other symptoms like a runny nose (haven't had one for more than 2 years-!) itchiness or suchlike, and things only got worse when the weather improved here.
Last time this happened, I asked an ENT to scope me, but he got to the mark too late. My symptoms had subsided for days before I saw him, and he said nothing was wrong. Of course I just know this'll happen again, given the NHS here in England, but in the meantime all I'm being told is "It's anxiety," "Go outside" "Grow up" and other such bilge.
What is happening to me? The doctors don't know, I don't know, and I'm scared I'll die from it. It's true life has been more stressful for me of late, but all the other times this has happened, that hasn't been the case. Also why didn't I get this when I felt stressed over 2 weeks ago?! I simply can't believe anxiety can affect my sinuses or whatever. It's not scientifically proven as far as I know!
