Grams,
I am sorry you are experiencing these worries regarding your Rx transition/start up.
I understand, as I am prone to 'future tripping' as well...and getting ahead of things in terms of worrying!
It is hard when your brain is searching for a reassurance regarding this being the right move or not...there are questions and doubts...naturally.
One way to combat these what if concerns is to counter them with positive coping skills.
The use of
positive mantras ("This switch in meds IS going to work long term.") and
visualization (actually picture a good outcome in your thoughts!) will go a long way in ensuring it happens!
Other good exercises can be found in our
Resources (top of the main forum page)
Mindfullness meditation helps to keep you in the moment...and as
Stress Relieving Exercises can lower your overall anxiety, quieting the negative chatter in our minds.:)
Therapy Worksheets are also powerful tools, and can be downloaded from the
Resource Thread.
Staying postive in general will be key. After all, it can only help you feel better...and there is as good a chance (or better) that this switch will be very beneficial for you!
Keep us posted as to your progress, and we will keep you in support.:)
Best wishes,
S.C.
