I recommend reading about the withdrawal effects of Paxil too, not just the side effects while ON the drug. It is a very difficult drug to come off of and many feel they have to stay on for life because of this. Personally, it may have helped my anxiety, but I started to get other side effects years later. Confusion, and raging anger, being the scariest ones. Also, it numbs all your emotions, not just the anxiousness. I was a zombie for 10+ years. An angry one at that. I would never touch this drug again. Just my 2 cents. Do yourself a favor and Google Paxil Withdrawal.
Thank you for your feedback. I will look into the withdrawal effects before making a decision. I know that all antidepressants can have withdrawal symptoms if stopped cold turkey; however, sometimes it can happen even if one tapers their dosage. I was on Zoloft for 3.5 years and it helped me tremendously. I don't recall experiencing any withdrawal symptoms, but I tried to go back on it this summer with no luck. It actually worsened my insomnia; hence, my search for a new antidepressant begins. Thanks again!
