Hello
So.......where to begin?? I guess some of my friends and family thinkI am suffering from anxiety. Back in Sept I wasn’t feeling well, and the doctor sent me for a CT scan of pelvis and abdominal area. At that point yes I did send myself into major anxiety thinking it was going to be the worst news in the world. Luckily all test came back clear. I was put on some acid reflux medicine that I believe did cause me some bladder issues. However many people around me are telling me my bladder issues are from my underlying anxiety. Urine cultures all come back negative, as did the fish test that checked for malignant cells in my urine. Urolgost did cystoscopy on me and saw nothing. Any advice.

I am sorry to hear about your health/anxiety concerns. I know how it is to have physical symptoms and anxiety.

I am wondering about the people you say are telling you that your bladder concerns are from anxiety? Unless they are medical professionals...I don't think they would be able to determine this for you. Unless it is perhaps because they are seeing a pattern of health anxiety behavior in you? Have you had previous worries that are similar?

I haven't heard of GERD medicine causing bladder issues. What are your symptoms? Pain, frequency?

If everything has checked out clear medically, then maybe you should consider your anxiety treatment options. Talking to your doctor would be a good step...

What are your symptoms? There is a very direct link between anxiety and a variety of pelvic urogential issues.

I have suffered from chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain and pelvic floor dysfunction for 6 years. There were some physical reasons that contributed BUT anxiety is now the MAJOR contributor to my issues.

I am not a med pro but I can give you some feedback guidance. I have been thru the ringer with drs, antibiotics, urologists etc...

Currently I am taking Lexapro to help with anxiety and its helping and I am doing pelvic floor PT to help my pelvic floor dysfunction. Where do you live? You should be able to find a pelvic floor PT specialist to help you resolve issues. Finding these books and understanding the cause of my issues and getting on SSRIs saved my life. My issues got bad.

I wasn’t feeling well in September and my doctor sent me for ct scan of pelvis and abdominal area. Well, I worked myself into such a severe anxiety attack. I thought for sure they were going to tell me they found cancer or something. Thank god knock on wood, everything came back clear. They said I had an ovarian cyst. But I was hysterical going into the test etc. o was crying hysterically, I know that was anxiety. In the mean time I had a bit of acid reflux going on, and my pc doctor gave me a script for Pantroprozole, as well as a script for my back that I had pulled. After a couple weeks, the urination kicked in, and I researched the meds and found that they have the rare side effect of messing up the bladder. I have had tests done and everything comes back fine. They even had my urine cultures to see if I had any malignant cells and everything came back normal. I stopped taking the meds and urniation has gotten better, but the overall anxiety I went thru also hasn’t helped. Mu friend who suffers from anxiety said t def can mess with with your bladder.

Definitely look into your anxiety treatment options...whether it be therapy, meds or both...
