Test result anxiety

Good Morning All,

Having health anxiety over a test result a had! Warning - female issues ahead. Last September 2017 I had a saline sonogram/uterine biopsy for light post menopausal bleeding.  All my test results came back fine (uterus and endo look normal, biopsy normal).  Except, Doc wanted me to follow up with a ultrasound for a cyst on my ovary.  I didn't get around to the follow until May of this year (8 months later).  That test came back normal, it's just a simple cyst no changes.  Yay, right?!  Well 2 days ago I get a call from the nurse at their office saying my test came back abnormal.  Huh?!  Apparently the uterine stripe/ endometrium 'ill defined' on the May ultrasound and now they want me back for another uterine biopsy.  OK - first, everything is normal in Sept and 8 months later it's not?  Second - a uterine biopsy is SO painful.  I'm waiting for the Doc to call me back on this but this is a bit overwhelming.  And has my anxiety in overdrive!

Thank you so much for your response Laura! I'm able to view the test results on line - that's how I know the May ultrasound came back with cyst looking normal. But lo and behold at the same time the nurse from the office called me a new alert popped up in my text that a 'new test result' was in. When I logged a line I saw a 'updated' report to my May ultrasound (yep, a full 2 months later). And the update was the stuff about the ill defined endometrium. It shakes your confidence in the Doctor and the office! I am literally back to square one and facing another biopsy after I just had a normal result one 10 months ago.

Ughhhhh......anxiety!

Good Morning and thank you for your responses! A quick update -

I was able to talk with my doctor yesterday and they are going to do a D & C at the hospital as opposed to the biopsy in office.  That put my mind at ease, at least I don't have to anticipate a painful procedure.  When I had my first biopsy 10 months ago for very light spotting after sex (blushes) my uterus was a beautiful 2mm.  The recent ultrasound showed the endometrium as 'ill defined', could not get a specific measurement.  The doctor said, worse case scenario, this is something that recent developed and we are fortunate to discover it when we did. I'm also scheduled for a family vacation in August and she assured me that if necessary, due to scheduling conflicts, we can do the D & C after vacation. She feels confident that, if necessary, delaying the D & C until end of August would be fine. So all in all feeling a bit better.
