Frustrated

After my psych recommended abilify or cymbalta, I found out I have a thyroid issue going on that could be causing some of my anxiety and depression issues. So instead of changing meds, I added a new med for my thyroid. My GP did not want me changing too much at one time which is understandable. But I'm so tired of struggling to get through the days. Occasionally I will have a good day or two, then followed by anxiety and crying. It takes weeks to get the thyroid leveled out, and that may not even be my problem. Now I'm having to take klonopin every 2 or 3 days, and am worried about addiction to that. Frankly abilify and cymbalta both scare me. Anyone have any good experiences switching from one ssri to another? My GP suggested prozac. Just the thought of waiting for the thyroid to level out, and then switching to another antidepressant that may or may not work has me really down.

Sorry to hear you are having a tough time at the moment.

I have taken Cymbalta and found it to be very effective at treating anxiety and depression it's also good for chronic pain. The only problem with it is that it is one of the harder antidepressants to stop spa very slow taper is required.

I am currently taking 60mg Prozac and have also found that to be really helpful so would say give it a go and see how you get on.
