Great so far! THanks for posting. We need all the positive news we can get......
AI may well mean the end of ‘patient’ forums such as this one (and many others)....
Please carefully study the last two posts...
[quote=I have had an UTI off and on for 8 weeks, and two 14 day doses of amoxicillin have not cured it. [/quote] I hope they identified the culprit bacterium and determined its antibiotic sensitivity...
It’s all the same for practical purposes....
Chris, re read what you posted in your newer thread....
Important post! This issue comes up so often... Fault the robot 😊...
Fortunately, the Prostate Cancer Forum is very active 😊 as is the Ulcerative Colitis forum. But there are a bunch of other support forums under the HealingWell umbrella that see hardly any activity...
Thanks for the follow up, Hal On forums such as this one, we often read about negative experiences with the medical 'system'; doctors, hospitals, insurance issues, recurrences, (delayed) side...
Like halbert wrote; it varies....
Thanks for posting Hal, not only for ourselves, but also for the ones who will discover that there's something wrong with their prostate and are looking for guidance....
Congratulations from one who is also (very) happy with the outcome of his radiation (+ ADT) therapy. For the details, please see my 'resume'....
All good advice. Time to relax and to enjoy the holidays....
Yes, thanks for your beautiful, loving post. The responses have been so eloquent; I would like to thank them as well for expressing my very thoughts....
Six years of experience would be fine with me. Older practitioners may not have kept up with the latest developments....
No concern at all because you still have a prostate, Or did I misread your resume?...
Fozzworth: HIFU has side effects and further treatment down the line is likely. The American Urological Association made the following statement: Clinicians should not recommend whole gland or focal...
No substantive input from me, but I want to emphasize that your medical status has improved and that imaging methods aren't necessarily 100% reliable....
Such excellent responses!...
In addition to the urologist, you should get a medical oncologist with prostate cancer experience on your team. Preferably one at a major cancer center....
I believe (!) that more chemo is possible after Pluvicto failure. Not only docetaxel but also cabazitaxel....
Where did you get your HD brachy and who was the specialist? I am asking because this specialty is not so common....
It's all good; something we don't see enough of on this forum......
Agent had surgery eleven years ago... Unfortunately, there is evidence of lingering disease as of now. I see that Agent started a new thread not too long ago. Better to move over there for comments...
I believe that cranberry juice may help to prevent urinary tract infections, but I doubt it does much for preventing stones and the like....
Have to agree with Mumbo. Radiation affects all prostate cells and some abnormal morphologies are likely the result....
Many of us have argued that SBRT should be seriously considered for low risk prostate cancer cases. But now we have (even more) data to back this up. Only one tiny step for mankind....
Yes, you (Jblue) should start a new thread because your husband's issue is quite different from the original post. In addition, would you please specify whether the recurrence is local and, if so,...
Yes, this should be in the bag for a good urologist. Just make sure he has done many....
Thanks for posting. Some get quite worried about a non-zero PSA test outcome after a prostatectomy, but you have done so well. Did you ever get hormone therapy? I think that a Gleason 3+3 diagnosis...
I join the others in sending my condolences. Your husband enlightened us in a new (for us) area of prostate cancer therapies. We are all indebted to him. May he rest in peace, cancer free....
Don't sweat it; those results look fine. And, BTW, testosterone test results will vary during the day etc....
Encouraging news; thanks for posting....
Actually, those PSA assay result are all very similar and no treatment is needed for now. Go surfing or listen to some Hawaiian music to relax....
I was scheduled for 24 months of hormone therapy, but my urologist (bless his heart) first gave me a one-month shot of Lupron to see if there was a serious side effect. I didn't have anything unusual...
Reassuring to read about your cancer voyage; thanks for posting....
Mattam hit the nail on the head. I strongly suggest a change in prescription....
Yes, as one who also had SBRT, I have been puzzled by the great variety of protocols. I had SBRT eleven years ago at a well-known medical center with a great deal of expertise in SBRT. Even then,...
Yes, others have chosen this procedure. It works but the loss of ('natural') testosterone will be permanent. The 'therapy' also saves a great deal of money....
Your 'team' clearly did a great job. Congratulations to all of them....
What's lequist? My quick search turned up nothing......
A connection seems extremely unlikely. Patients who take bone fortification drugs related to bone metastases are typically warned about osteonecrosis of the jaw. But that's not what you are...
Congratulations; always good to read about positive outcomes....
I can totally relate to your anxiety about the rise in your PSA. However, it is not at all uncommon for this to happen. The phenomenon is often referred to as a bounce. I hope that your PSA will...
I agree that this is really bad. However, it's likely that these data will end up on the dark web. Will a legitimate firm (or organization) really (want to) access those data? It's unlikely that such...
Both systems are imperfect (duh) as we all know. When will the time come that each lesion is DNA analyzed so that we can really know what's wrong? How far along are we with that approach?...
My prostate 'enjoyed' some great photon shoots in the past, but in your case, surgery is the right choice. Best wishes with the surgery and recovery....
Can you provide some evidence (from a refereed source) for your post, please....
Please try to stop wondering and live life to its fullest....
At the image center you will probably see a technician, not a doc right away... 😒...
