when i was diagnosed it was DRE and then biopsy -- no other tests. and the DRE was normal. all 12 cores of the biopsy were cancerous. my doctor said i had a 70% chance of having prostate cancer...
i agree with that approach. i was totally freaked out but all my doctor would do is give me a light sedative that didn't help much. but the biopsy really wasn't that bad...
